Apparatus to shape and bend profiles has a flat surface which is smooth or it is covered with a smooth cladding. At least one assembly is on the flat surface, with a jig and counter jig with the workpiece in a sandwich array between them. The jig and counter jig are locked together and held in place by at least one clamp, with at least one clamping jaw which has a release anchor with an air hole. The smooth surface (4) is a glass sheet. Each clamp (5) has a jaw (6) which is preferably bonded to a shaft or connecting rod (6), and a second jaw (6') which slides on it (6). A movable lock (8) can be positioned axially along the connecting rod (6). The two jaws (6,6') of each clamp (5) have an anchor (7) with an air hole, or only the second jaw (6') is anchored (7). Each jig (2) and/or counter jig (3) has a lateral projection or reinforcement (9), if necessary fitted with a groove along a lateral side (2',3') of the jig (2) or counter jig (3). The clamping jaws can have a corresponding rib (10) to fit into the groove. The apparatus can have a number of assemblies of jigs (2) and counter jigs (3), each held in place by clamps (5), to bend the workpiece according to a pattern drawn temporarily on the smooth and flat surface (4).
