The projectile comprises a body (1) containing a bursting charge (4) providing a required pattern with a combustible charge (5) in its midst. Ignition of the combustible charge is assured by the explosion of the bursting charge. Wedging washers (15a,15b) hold the combustible charge axially. A pyrotechnic material (11) and ignition material (12) for the bursting charge are contained in a sleeve (10).
