A flat multi-channel tube, extruded from a metal and especially aluminium, consists of two main walls (24) connected by end (26) and intermediate (28) partitions to form parallel fluid circulation channels (30). The tube has grooves (34) in its outer surface in line with the intermediate partitions so that the channels have a constant wall thickness. The main walls are basically flat, with the partitions forming channels of rectangular cross-section and the grooves are V-shaped and form an angle of 90 degrees. In a variant of the design the walls can be corrugated to form oval channels and have curved grooves.
