The simultaneous use of an orally administered solid preparation (A) and a locally applied non-solid preparation (B) is claimed for improving intestinal transit, improving abdominal muscle tone and reducing accumulation of subcutaneous fat, where (A) is based on plant extracts and minerals and (B) consists or a mixture of essential oils and a gel. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) the use of a specific preparation (A), i.e. (A'), for reducing dilation of the abdominal cavity by regularizing intestinal transit and digestion, containing vegetable fibre, pectins, fructo-oligosaccharides, clay and choleretic agent; (2) the use of a specific preparation (B), i.e. (B'), as above, where (B') contains a defined mixture of essential oils; (3) the use of a specific preparation (B), i.e. (B''), as above, where (B'') contains a lipolytic agent, a selective inhibitor of the Krebs cycle and optionally one or more stimulants of cell proliferation and extracellular matrix synthesis; and (4) a composition comprising the (A)/(B) combination (specifically (A')/(B')/(B'') combination) and a cosmetic excipient.
