The pick up gripper for animal faeces has a pair of rectangular frames (2) which are pivoted together to forma gripper. The pivot is formed by a tubular casing extending transversely to the gripper frames. The tubular pivot forms a container for storing plastics disposal bags which can be pulled from a slot (8) in the wall of the tube to receive the faeces. Alternatively, the pivot can be formed by an integral diaphragm extending between the two frames and having projections to retain the tubular container.
