Display comprises a computer monitor (2) that operates in two modes, in a first mode a direct normal image is displayed on the screen, while in a second mode an inverted image is displayed on the screen. Control of mode of operation is by a control system (6) that detects the direction (D, V) in which a user is looking and commands the computer to display the appropriate image. In virtual mode the user sees an image reflected from a mirror (5). The invention relates to both a method and device for displaying virtual or real images on a computer monitor.
