The system comprises a pedal mechanism with two cranks (6) symmetrically mounted around the rotational axis (AA). The path covered by the pedals (9,9') is modified during their rotation around the axis into an asymmetrical path such that when a pedal is at the top of its trajectory the other pedal is not at the bottom of its trajectory. An Independent claim is also included for the bike.
