Solid state scintillation detector comprises YAP(Ce) crystal for simultaneous detection of alpha, beta and X-rays

A solid state scintillation detector contains at least one YAP(Ce) crystal for simultaneous measurement of alpha , beta and X-rays, at least one of which, especially the beta radiation, has a very low energy component, i.e. below 200 keV. The detector also contains at least one light meter in the form of a photomultiplier, and has an inlet window for the radiation of metallized or lightproof polymer film, or a thin coating of a metal, especially aluminum, on a YAP(Ce) crystal.
