PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make easily analyzable an optically active substance by constituting a compound for analyzing optically active substance of a compound where a molecule containing resorcinol structure forms a cyclic tetramer via a hydrophobic chain, and by using the compound analyzing optically active substance to discriminate between D and L body of the optically active substance. SOLUTION: The compound for analyzing optically active substance consists of a compound where a molecule containing resorcinol structure forms a cyclic tetramer via a hydrophobic chain and is used for discriminating between D and L body of the optically active substance. A compound where a molecule containing resorcinol structure forms a cyclic tetramer via a hydrophobic chain can be expressed by an expression. In the expression, X generally indicates hydrogen or a hydroxyl group (OH). More specifically, the compound is constituted by a resorcinol annular tetramer (X:H) or a pyrogallol cyclic tetramer (X:OH). Also, in the expression, R indicates a hydrophobic sensory group (hydrophobic chain) being included between resorcinol structure. Generally, the R is preferably set to an alkyl or aryl group of a straight or molecular chain with 1-19 carbons.
