PURPOSE: To provide the title device wherein an upper frame for a skylight, on which frame a daylighting dome is mounted, can smoothly be opened or closed by the driving force of a motor, preferably by manual power or by the driving force of a motor with relatively smaller output power. ;CONSTITUTION: The one end of an upper frame 2 for a skylight, on which frame a daylight dome 3 is mounted, is rotatably pivoted on the one end of a base frame 1 for the skylight, and rotary arms 5 for opening or closing the upper frame 2, a motor 6, and speed-reducing gears 7 for transmitting the revolution-driving force of the motor 6 to the rotary arms 5 by speed reduction are provided inside the base frame 1. The upper frame 2 is smoothly opened or closed by slowly turning the rotary arms 5 through the speed-reducing gears 7, by the motor 6, preferably by manual power. For that purpose, it is made releasable by movably installing the motor 6 that the power of the motor 6 is transmitted to the speed-reducing gears 7, and a manually turning means is provided on an input shaft 10 for the speed-reducing gears 7. Furthermore, a coil spring 16 is provided on the input shaft 10 so that its force is always applied to the input shaft 10 in the rotary direction in which the upper frame 2 is pivotally opened, and when the upper frame 2 is opened, the load to be applied to a motor is reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
