PRINTED MATTER WHOSE GENUINENESS CAN BE IDENTIFIED USING FINE SLIT IMAGE AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of identifying the genuineness, which is applied to a precious printed matter requiring prevention of counterfeiting, and in which a latent image appears by observing the printed matter from an oblique angle. SOLUTION: The printed matter whose genuineness can be identified is obtained by first providing similar basic images (2, 3) on top and back surfaces of a light transmitting base material (1). The basic images (2, 3) are composed of line drawings and/or dot patterns. The basic images (2, 3) are divided into a background image part and a message image part applying at least one latent image. The background image part and the message image part have a certain form of a visually unidentificable slit-pattern structure having a different angle of the direction of arrangement, in each drawing lines and/or in each dots of line drawings and/or dot patterns, respectively. In addition, the basic images (2, 3) on the top and back surfaces overlap.
