PURPOSE: To enhance heat stability, mechanical properties and processing characteristics by compounding a specific reaction product, an ion-or free radical polymn. catalyst and a phenothiazine (deriv.). ;CONSTITUTION: 1 mol. of a polyimide containing at least a group represented by formula (wherein D is a divalent group having a C=C bond) (A) and 0.05-2.0 mol. of an alkenyl phenol and/or an alkenyl phenol ether (B) are reacted in the presence of an ion polymn. catalyst or a free radical polymn. catalyst to obtain a reaction product with a resin soln. viscosity (ICI.Cone and Plate viscometer, 125°C) of 20-80 poise. A solvent containing a phenothiazine (deriv.) is heated at 40-60°C and added to this reaction product to obtain a thermosetting compsn. which is, in turn, infiltrated into a glass fabric to which an adhesion accelerator is bonded and the obtained fabric is heated to 150-170°C to remove the solvent to obtain an imido group-containing prepreg.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
