PROCESSING MANAGEMENT DEVICE, PROCESSING MANAGEMENT PROGRAM AND RECORDING MEDIUM RECORDING PROCESSING MANAGEMENT PROCEDURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a processing management device improved at its throughput.;SOLUTION: The processing management device consists of job groups 1a to 1d for executing batch processing, a job monitoring device 2 for giving priority to respective jobs and monitoring the execution processes of the jobs and a scheduling device 3 for scheduling the job groups 1a to 1d. Two jobs, i.e., a job for backing up a database and a job for reconstructing indexes, are considered. A user informs the monitoring device 2 of the start time of batch processing. The scheduling device 3 gives higher priority to the reconstruction of indexes and allows the jobs to be executed in the order of the reconstruction of the indexes and the backup of the database. Since the database is backed up after the reconstruction of the indexes, the contents of the database can be stored in a cleaner state. Consequently a user using the machine can execute necessary processing without feeling the load of the machine.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
