PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a radiation light X-ray image pickup device of a small size which is usable for coronary artery contrast photography in a hospital by using an electron accumulation ring of electron beam energy below 3 GeV. ;SOLUTION: This device has an insertion light source 6 inserted into the electron accumulation ring 3, a spectroscope 9 and an image pickup device and executes X-ray contrast photography by placing a subject 11 between the spectroscope and the image pickup device. The good X-ray image is obtained by suppressing a half shadow Wd in the video of the subject in a manner that the sum of the light diversion angle Σ possessed by the X-ray for photography included in the radiation light and the X-ray scattering angle θm in a spectral crystal attains ≤0.6 mrad. Also, the angle 2 θp allowing for the shadow Wd id specified to ≤0.6 mrad in accordance with the width Ws of an effective light source at the insertion light source, the optical path length Lsa from the light source to the subject and distance 1 ma between the spectral crystal and the subject, by which the half shadow is suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
