PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground water storage installation structure capable of constructing a retarding basin having a high water storage efficiency at a low cost and box culverts used therefor. ;SOLUTION: A plurality of box culverts 1 and 2 erecting both right and left side walls 12 and 12 so as to project short edge sections of both walls 10 and 11 outward between the rectangular bottom wall 10 and ceiling wall 11 are continuously provided in the longitudinal direction to form a row of culverts (a), and a plurality of rows of culverts (a) are formed in the short direction at specific intervals.
