PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a material with excellent strength properties for use in bridged shadow masks and aperture grilles and provide a shadow masks, aperture grilles and kinescopes (television picture tube) using the material.;SOLUTION: This material is produced for use in bridged shadow masks or aperture grilles and contains 0.01-0.1 mass% niobium, 0.004-0.02 mass% nitrogen, 0.02 mass% or less carbon, less than 0.6 mass% manganese, and the balance substantially iron. Preferably, grain size of this material should be No.9 or greater in terms of the grain size number specified in JIS G 0552, and more preferred is a smaller grain size represented by No.10 or greater number in this specification.
