PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To advantageously produce inorg. artificial ceramics having superior mechanical strength, wear, water and weather resistance, etc., as well as superior light accumulating property and clear fluorescent characteristic. ;SOLUTION: Borosilicate glass consisting essentially of SiO2, B2O3 and an alkali metal oxide is used as a base material and a light accumulating phosphor made of at least one kind of metallic aluminate represented by the formula MO-nAl2O3 (where M represents one metal or metal composite of more than two metals selected among Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba) is uniformly dispersed and incorporated into the base material by 3-50wt.% or the base material which is blended with the phosphor.
