CUTTING EDGE TYPE PIPE JACKING WORK IN UNDERWATER METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome the problem such that conventional cutting edge type pipe jacking work requires large-scale ground improvement and the like and results in not only an increased cost burden but potential undesigned ineffective ness, which often triggers sand runoff and the like and involves danger of depres sion and the like.;SOLUTION: A shaft 1 is filled with water up to a natural groundwater level 2 to prevent a flash flood from outside the shaft 1 and thereby a sudden sand runoff. The water filling of the shaft 1 can cause the water weight to prevent a cave-in of the natural ground, which thus makes the method capable of minimizing ground improvement.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
