PURPOSE: To correctly measure power of electromagnetic waves in a wide frequency range including a resonant frequency, by adjusting an input wave so as to offset a frequency dependency of a diode and guiding the adjusted wave to the diode via a tapered waveguide. ;CONSTITUTION: An adjusting means 30 adjusts and changes a rate (transmission coefficient) of power transmitted to a diode 34 in accordance with a DC output/ power input ratio of the diode to a specific frequency. Specifically, the transmission coefficient is increased for a low frequency and decreased for a high frequency. By changing the transmission coefficient, a DC output level of the diode can be maintained constant in a wide frequency range to an input wave 36 of a different frequency with the same power. The wave after adjusted (adjusted wave) 38 is transmitted to the diode 34 via a tapered waveguide 32 having a larger impedance at an input port than at an output port. The power of the input wave 36 is efficiently transmitted in this method. The diode 34 outputs a DC output 40 without being restricted by a resonant frequency.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
