PURPOSE: To simplify the preparation of a facility sectional plane and to improve accuracy for the preparation. ;CONSTITUTION: Data concerning any arbitrary mesh are extracted from a data base 1 provided with map data showing the position of a map element such as a road on an xy plane at every mesh and facility data showing the position in a (z) axis direction as necessary besides the positions of facility elements such as gas pipes or water pipes on the xy plane, any arbitrary sectional designation line segment is inputted 2, the respective installing conditions of facility elements on a cross-section specified by this sectional designating line segment are calculated based on these data and the sectional designating line segment by operating an application program 3 later, and these installing conditions are displayed on a display part 4.
