PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-cooled shield of a neutron scattering apparatus which is placed in the center of the neutron scattering apparatus to surround the circumference of a reflector vessel generating neutron.;SOLUTION: Shields placed so as to surround the reflector vessel from the side out of the shields surrounding the reflector vessel placed in the center are arranged around the axis of the reflector vessel by bringing a plurality of steel shielding blocks divided in the radial direction into contact with each other, and each shielding block is cooled by providing a cooling groove in a contact surface of the adjacent shielding blocks.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
