PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile station position exploring method wherein, with wide tolerance range for calculation error, calculation tame is shortened. ;SOLUTION: Relating to a mobile station position exploring method for exploring mobile station's position by utilizing a mobile body communication system, the wireless zone of base stations 21, 22, and 23 is divided into plural exploration unit districts (grid), and position relationship between each base station and exploration unit district is defined by time lay in radio wave propagation time between each base station and an objective exploration unit district. From each base station intrinsic signals d1, d2, and d3, for each base station, are transmitted, and based on time lay in periods where each intrinsic signal is sent and then received at a mobile station, the exploration unit district where a mobile station is positioned is specified.
