PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily assemble an absolute value encoder, having an optical system detection section for single rotation and a magnetic detection section for multiple rotations, and to improve flexibility in design.;SOLUTION: A magnetic resistance element for composing a multiple-rotation sensor and a bias magnet are arranged, while they are distributed to the front and the rear of a printed circuit board that is fixed to an encoder case for ease of assembly. At the same time, by adjusting the length of the connection section between the encoder case and the printed circuit board, the responsiveness of the spacer of an optical system is decreased, while at the same time, the dimensions of the optical system are designed optimally.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
