PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an IC card owner to purchase commodity quickly with proper knowledge about the commodity.;SOLUTION: A commodity purchase processing device having a bar code information reading part and an IC card insertion function is attached to a cart to acquire commodity related information from the information of bar codes attached to the commodity before storing the commodity into the cart and display a commodity purchase button together with the related information. When the commodity purchase button is operated, it is judged that the operator has the intention of purchasing, and the commodity related information is stored in an IC card. After that, the cart advances into a card payment lane, the IC card is inserted into a card processing device installed in the lane, and when the number of purchased commodities loaded down from the cart agrees with the number of purchased commodities stored in the IC card, card settlement is performed in this commodity purchase processing system.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
