PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the quality of grains with good accuracy.;SOLUTION: A lid body 32 is attached, by a hinge 31, to a sample base 30 whose bottom face 30A is formed to be transparent in such a way that the lid body can be opened and closed. A plurality of rod-shaped light sources 36 which are constituted of fluorescent lamps or the like are attached to the inside of the lid body 32. Between the light sources 36 and the sample base 30, a light shielding louver 38 by which directions of beams of light irradiated from the light sources 36 are made uniform in the oblique direction is arranged in parallel with the bottom face of the sample base 30 in such a way that the grains placed on the sample base 30 are irradiated with light from the oblique direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
