PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-conduit working device for laying communication cables in underground conduits and a communication cable laying method, which can easily lay the communication cables in branch conduits by one worker, who has no necessarily working skill, on the ground when the communication cables laid in a main conduit are drawn out from the main conduit and laid in the respective branch conduits.;SOLUTION: This in-conduit working device 1 for laying communication cables in underground conduits is used when the communication cables are laid in underground conduits comprising a main conduit and one or more branch conduits branched from the main conduit. The in-conduit working device 1 has a casing 2 which can be inserted into the branch conduit 2, a hollow shaft 5 which can be turned in the circumferential direction of the casing 2, a working jig 20 which is detachably attached to the tip of the hollow shaft 5, and a TV camera 3 provided in front of the casing 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
