The article is devoted to the development of creating new designs of optical cables by testing mechanical tests to cables. To create the new designs of optical cables, observing the structures of cables is very important and by testing with machine which are intended to measure the tensile strength of cables are very useful when we compare the results of both testing and calculating with formulas for the mechanical properties of optical cables. In this paper we explain the designs of indoor and outdoor optical cables and the detailed structures are also shown with diagrams. Then, basic parameters of sample cables are presented to calculate in examples with formula of calculating area of optical cable, the modulus of elasticity of the cable and the maximum tensile force of optical cable by using the values of power element which is included in the structure of cables to prevent from external exposure.
