Presumption manner of the molten steel velocity of flow inside the mold for continuous casting, in the continuous casting of the steel quality control manner and the continuous casting manner null
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate the flowing speed of molten steel in a mold with on-line without obstructing the operation of a continuous casting. ;SOLUTION: The temp. in a copper plate of the mold is measured with a temp. measuring element 6 embedded in the mold copper plate at one point on the normal line on the surface of the molten steel 1 side of the mold copper plate 8 and the temp. measured value in this mold copper plate, the thickness (dm) of the mold copper plate, the distance (d) from the surface of the molten steel side of the mold copper plate to the tip part of the temp. measuring element, the temp. of cooling water 5, the thickness of solidified shell 2 on the normal line, the thickness of mold powder layer 3 on the normal line and the molten steel temp. in the mold, and used to obtain the heat flowing flux from the molten steel in the mold to the cooling water in the mold. The coefficient of convective heat transfer between the molten steel and the solidified shell corresponding to this heat flowing flux, is obtd. and the flowing speed of the molten steel along the solidified shell is estimated from this coefficient of convective heat transfer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
