PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bilateral WDM-ADM which is simple and has high efficiency, and a bilateral WDM optical transmission system provided with the bilateral WDM-ADM.;SOLUTION: The bilateral WDM optical transmission system includes a first and a second transmitting and receiving parts, and the bilateral WDM- ADM. The transmitting and receiving parts multiplex optical signals of multichannel before transmission, and multiplex reversely received optical signals of multichannel. The WDM-ADM interleaves channels of the optical signal received from the first transmitting and receiving part and channels of the optical signal received from the second transmitting and receiving part, performs add/drop of the interleaved optical signals every channel, de-interleaves the optical signals subjected to add/drop to a first optical signal and a second optical signal, and provides the first and second optical signals to the first and second transmitting and receiving parts.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
