PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biodegradable resin composition enhanced in an elastic modulus by blending natural mica with the biodegradable resin.;SOLUTION: In this biodegradable resin composition, polylactic acid which is an aliphatic polyester resin is blended with granulated mica obtained by using an acrylic resin as a binder as natural mica. It is preferable to bring the blending amount of natural mica to be 5.0-30.0 wt.% and its average particle size to be 15-140 μm. A carbodiimide compound is preferably added as a hydrolysis inhibitor to the polylactic acid. According to an example, powdery granulated mica (containing 0.8 wt.% urethane resin binder) obtained by granulating natural mica having 40-50 μm particle size is added to a polylactic acid in 10 wt.% and a storage elastic modulus at a high temperature is remarkably increased. The biodegradable resin composition is useful as elemental materials for household electric appliances, rectangular body materials and the likes.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
