PURPOSE: To suppress stripe flaws and to produce an improved metallic thin strip in the manufacture of a metallic thin strip by using a multi-nozzle. ;CONSTITUTION: A plural number of parallelogram openings 2 are arranged nearly vertically to the moving direction of a cooling base plate; a triangular small opening 2' is provided on both ends of a line of the openings; a nozzle 3 with a recessed part with a specific depth covering at least over the opening part and the entire spaced part of the opening is provided facing oppositely to and only on that side of the cooling base plate; and a molten sample of a metal or an alloy is injected from the nozzle 3 to the surface of the cooling base plate for a rapid solidification. The nozzle for producing a metallic thin strip is such as specifying the shape of the recessed part in the lower part of the nozzle 3.
