CVD COATING OF TITANIUM-BORON AND CHROMIUM-BORON FOR DIAMOND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond coating method for obtaining an improved film having high oxidation resistance and firmer holding power. SOLUTION: In the method, one or more kinds of metallic layer materials selected from Ti(1-x)Bx and Cr(1-x)Bx (wherein, x=0.05) are chemically vapor- deposited on substantially all the outside surfaces of diamond. Further, an iron based or other workpiece in which diamond whose substantially all outer surfaces are coated with one or more kinds selected from Ti(1-x)Bx and Cr(1-x)Bx (wherein, x=0.05) is buried is provided. Further, a coated diamond whose substantially all outer surfaces are coated with one of or more kinds selected from Ti(1-x)Bx and Cr(1-x)Bx (wherein, x=0.05) is provided.
