PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for external application capable of supplying a necessary sufficient amount of radical scavenging component to the fur of a pet having fur or feather such as dog, cat or bird by scattering, coating, pasting or spraying to the pet animal, enabling the prevention, suppression or reduction of oxidation stress and improving the abnormal fur occurred and developed by radical.;SOLUTION: The composition for external application for improving the fur quality of a pet contains a radical scavenging component having high concentration or a stabilized active radical scavenging component. More specifically, the composition contains a component selected from concentrated L-ascorbic acid as the radical scavenging component having high concentration and stabilized active ascorbic acid as the stabilized active radical component or a complex of both components and, at the same time, a component selected from bleaching preparation, anti-inflammatory agent, humectant and sterilizing agent or their complex.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
