PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical piece data editing program which edits musical piece data, in such a manner that sound production is recognized, even when a tone length is shorter with respect to musical tone waveforms slow in rise time.;SOLUTION: Event information is successively read out of the musical piece data 1a, before edition according to time sequence and is outputted to a note-on timing changing section 3, a timber detecting section 4, a tempo detecting section 5 and a tone length detecting section 6. A deciding section 7 has edition processing performed, when the tone length of the note information is short with the tone length in the case of the timbre of slow rising as an objective for edition. The event information read out is written as it is as a rule into a musical piece data memory section 1, except when however, prescribed conditions are going to be satisfied, the note-on timing information is changed in a note-on timing changing section 3 and the timber assignment information on the selected side is written in a timber assignment information selecting section 11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
