PURPOSE: To provide a separator/storage for detecting foreign matter in pulp suspension. ;CONSTITUTION: The separator/storage comprises a first tank 2 for storing a pulp suspension, a screen 3 for screening the pulp suspension using a screen member 31, a first channel 4 for partitioning the interior of the screen 3 into an unscreened chamber 3a and a screened chamber 3b by means of the screen member 31 and connecting the unscreened chamber 3a with the first tank 2 thus introducing the pulp suspension from the first tank 2 to the screen 3, a second tank 2' for storing the screened pulp suspension, a port 36 provided oppositely to the unscreened chamber 3a in order to discharge the foreign matters being screened, a passage 37 communicating with the foreign matter discharge port 36, and means for opening/closing the passage 37.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
