PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method for measuring a deflection of a drum body capable of measuring the deflection of the drum body accurately in a short time. SOLUTION: A spherical body 64 is brought into point-contact with two portions of an inner circumferential face of an engaging hole 1404 in each end part of the drum body 14 to support the drum body 14 by the four points P. Two distance sensors 2802X, 2802Y are arranged to have measuring points 2812X, 2812Y in positions along two buses connecting two portions of respective ends where the spherical body 64 point-contacts with an outer circumference of the drum body 14. Distances upto the two portions in the outer circumference of the drum body 14 on the two buses are measured cuncurrently by the distance sensors under a condition where the drum body 14 is stopped. Then, the drum body is rotated by 180 deg. to measure distances upto the two portions in the outer circumference of the drum body 14 by the same manner. The measured values provided by the measurement are computing-processed to calculate an eccentric amount and an eccentric direction of the drum body.
