ARTIFICIAL BEACH NOURISHMENT STRUCTURE AND SAND BARRIER FOR HARBOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial beach nourishment structure and a sand barrier for a harbor for preventing beach-nourishing sand laid in the harbor from being eroded away by surging waves and receding waves, by installing an effective sand barrier while attenuating waves penetrating the outer facility of the harbor. SOLUTION: In a harbor with an outer facility 2 constructed of either a breakwater 4 or a wave dissipation barrier 3 constituting the mouth of a bay, the artificial beach nourishment structure for the harbor comprises a film type breakwater 6 located at the mouth 5 of the bay, a floating wave-dissipation barrier 7 located in a predetermined position in the bay, and a sand barrier 8. The sand barrier 8 comprises a plurality of concrete blocks connected to one another by a filler extending from the upper end to the bottom of each block between adjacent concrete blocks to prevent sand such as the beach nourishment sand of an artificial beach 1 from being eroded away.
