PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolled H shape steel having excellent corrosion resistance in the soil and local buckling resistance and to provide its production method.;SOLUTION: An iron based alloy having a composition containing, by weight, 0.5 to 2% Cr and, if required, containing one or more kinds selected from 0.1 to 1% Cu, 0.1 to 2% Ni, 0.1 to 1.5% Al, 0.1 to 2% Mo, 0.005 to 0.1% Nb, 0.005 to 0.3% V and 0.003 to 0.1% Ti and satisfying Pcm: ≤0.20 is subjected to hot rolling so as to be finished at ≥Ar3 point into rolled wide flange shape and is thereafter cooled from a two phase region of austenite and ferrite to ≤600°C at ≥3°C/s, so that the work hardening exponent from the yield strength of the flange in a tensile test in the axial direction of the shape steel to 5% by normal strain is controlled to ≥0.20.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
