PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an architectural columnar material capable of being simply manufactured and forming wall, plate or the like of the reduced number of the architectural columnar materials having a smaller diameter by timber from thinning or the like having high strength with a smaller diameter and an architectural structural body making use of the building columnar material. SOLUTION: The columnar material 1 has the approximately same shaped section, fitting grooves E1 consisting of surfaces F1 and F1 at approximately right angles along the longitudinal direction are included on one side, and projections E2 fitting to the fitting grooves E1 are included on the other side. The front ends of the projections E2 have small surfaces F2 approximately parallel with the longitudinal direction. Side faces F3 and F4 approximately parallel with the center face L connecting the projections E2 to the fitting grooves E1 are provided to at least one of first and second intermediate sections M1 and M2 between the projections E2 and the fitting grooves E1. Slopes G1 and G2 are provided between the intermediate sections M1 and M2 and the fitting grooves E1. The columnar material 1 is capable of forming the wall or plate or the like by successively connecting a plurality of construction columnar materials 1a to 1c.
