PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lay a pipe line having a pipe joint of earthquake proof structure by a method of propulsion construction.;SOLUTION: This pipe joint inserts a spigot 2 into a socket 3 by leaving a space S for pressing in of the distance from a spigot tip end 2a to a socket interior end 3a, the pipe joint is provided with a ring unit 9 externally fitted to an outer surface of the spigot 2 to come into contact with a socket opening end and a plurality of pin units 12 inserted in the ring unit 9 in a diametric direction to engage with the outer surface of the spigot 2, and breaking strength of the pin unit 12 is set to the strength enduring against propulsion force of a pipe but breaking for large external force at earthquake.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
