METHOD FOR INVESTIGATING AND NOTIFYING CAUSE TO NETWORK FAULT AND TERMINAL USED TO REALIZE THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault case investigation and notification technology that identifies the cause of deterioration in the quality of audio video while a fault is taking place and informs a user about it without interrupting viewing and listening of the audio video service.;SOLUTION: When the terminal enters audio video communications, a network quality management unit selects the communication address of a device being a fault cause investigation object from the communication address of a terminal and the communication address of an opposite party and informs the terminal about the communication address. When the quality of audio video data is deteriorated, the terminal transmits a quality measurement packet to the informed communication address to collect network quality values and informs the network quality management unit about the network quality values. The network quality management unit receiving it calculates the difference from the collected quality values, compares it with a prescribed threshold value to identify a cause of the fault and transmits it to the terminal to output the cause of the fault to the terminal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
