PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for compensating for the nonlinearity of an output, with respect to the control voltage of a variable gain amplifier capable of reducing the required RAM area and its circuit.;SOLUTION: The nonlinear component of output characteristics is compensated for, with respect to the control voltage of the variable gain amplifier which stores the difference value between the control voltage-output characteristics of the variable gain amplifier and a straight line having the exponentiation inclination of 2, reads the stored difference value according to the desired output and adds a bit shift value, corresponding to the inclination of the straight line corresponding to the difference value and the desired output.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
