PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and soft shading material serviceable for a long period, having moisture permeability, air permeability and water permeability, securing substantially perfect shading tendency, thus favorably controlling photoperiodic response. SOLUTION: This shading material for the control of photoperiodic response with a shading percentage of =99.99% is in the form of a laminate composed of a shading sheet (I) and a shading sheet (II); wherein the shading sheet (I) is characterized by being such as to be obtained by weaving/knitting tape-like yarns (A) of high infrared reflectivity as warps or wefts and 2nd tape-like yarns (B) of high shading tendency as the others into a sheet form and has the ratio of the exposed area of the yarns (A) to that of the yarns (B) of =3, while the shading sheet (II) is characterized by being such as to be obtained by weaving/knitting tape-like yarns (C) with high shading tendency and light absorbing tendency as both warps and wefts.
