PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rainfall meter for remote observation, capable of automatically remote-measuring the instantaneous rainfall amount in simple constitution. SOLUTION: A sub-water storing tank 10 including a water catch funnel 102 for catching rainwater, a main water storing tank 200 for guiding entering rainwater to a capillary 210, and a measuring circuit 300 for measuring the instantaneous rainfall amount in measurement from the drip time interval of water drops dripping through the capillary 210 from the main water storing tank 200 are provided in a casing 10. Rainwater stored in the main water storing tank 200 drips from the capillary 210, and the dripping time interval is detected by a photo sensor 400. The instantaneous rainfall amount is determined from the time interval, the outside diameter of the capillary 210, the surface tension of water and the like by the measuring circuit 300. and the measurement result is transmitted to a manager terminal of a remote place.
