PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game system or the like which allows players to enjoy card games simply.;SOLUTION: Cards each have a function of a data carrier. An antenna for communication with the cards and a photosensor for detecting patterns of placing the cards are arranged in a game field device 3 provided with a region where the cards are placed. How a card game proceeds as carried on by players on the game field device 3 is obtained with the antenna, the photosensor and an operation input device 5 operated by the players. Based on the ongoing state of the game thus obtained, a game is played with a virtual contestant through a display 4 and each player is provided with the results of the calculation of points and information for exhibiting the ongoing state about the game with a real contestant.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
