PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring an electron injection energy barrier actually formed on the interface between metal and organic matter.;SOLUTION: For measuring the electron injection energy barrier on the interface between metal and organic matter, a ballistic electron 5 is knocked from a chip 1 for supplying a tunnel electron to the interface 3 between metal and organic matter through a metal electrode 2 with an extremely thin film. Energy of the ballistic electron is continuously increased by a tunnel voltage Vt, and energy of the ballistic electron at a threshold at which current flowing through an ammeter 8 is started to be detected is measured as an electron injection energy barrier eVb.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
