PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a microorganism carrier for a biological deodorization device which can efficiently hold microorganisms, has high mechanical strength, does not easily collapse even when used by being packed into a packed column, or the like, and has excellent durability and reliability and to obtain a microorganism carrier. The raw material solution prepared by mixing the fibrillated matter of kenaf formed by fibrillating the kenaf into the aqueous polyvinyl alcohol soln. is used as the raw material solution. The raw material solution which is prepared by mixing the fibrillated matter of the iron-component-containing waste paper formed by fibrillating the waste paper containing the iron powder or the iron oxide powder and the fibrillated matter of the kenaf formed by fibrillating the kenaf in the aqueous PVA solution is used as the raw material solution.
