METHOD FOR CONNECTING LINKED DIGITAL MAPS INCLUDED IN NUMERIC MAP DATABASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly connect digital maps that are independently provided even without a gap though the maps are geographically linked by transforming the shape of a digital map that is not a regular rectangle into a regular rectangle. SOLUTION: The digital maps desired to be connected are selected from the storage medium of a computer housing a numeric map database and inputted in the computer (a), the latitudes and longitudes of the four corners of the digital maps inputted in the computer are found (b), the digital maps inputted in the computer are transformed into digital maps displayed with geographical coordinates on the basis of the latitudes and longitudes of the four corners found in the processing step (b), and the digital maps are made into the digital maps in the regular rectangle sectioned by prescribed latitude and longitude ranges (c), the digital maps of the regular rectangle obtained in the processing step (c) are stored (d), and a plurality of digital maps of the regular rectangle which are respectively separated are connected even though the plurality of stored digital maps are geographically linked (e).
