PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly perform a white balance correction and to obtain a proper print density when preparing a print from an input image. SOLUTION: The white balance correcting method is provided for estimating the color temperature of a photographing light source in the case of photographing an inputted color image by using gray and/or flesh color information contained in the color image and for correcting the image signal of the color image on the basis of the estimated color temperature and the density correcting method is provided for multiplying a prescribed coefficient by the image signal of each of pixels in the inputted color image, detecting a pixel included closely to a black object locus curve in the flesh color as a flesh color candidate pixel as a result and assigning an average concerning the prescribed chrominance signal of the detected skin color candidate pixel to a prescribed density on the print of the chrominance signal.
