METHOD OF COMPLETING POURING OF RESIDUAL MOLTEN STEEL IN TUNDISH IN CONTINUOUS CASTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of completing pouring of the residual molten steel in a tundish in the continuous casting, capable of restraining occurrence of vortex arising when the residual molten steel becomes small in quantity at a time of carrying out a continuous casting of different kinds of steel, thereby enabling reduction in the tundish of the residual amount of molten steel of the previous charge as much as possible and minimizing the mixing region of the component of the subsequent charge.;SOLUTION: The method comprises a stage where the residual quantity of molten steel in the tundish is measured at a time of completing pouring of the residue, a stage where, based on the results of the foregoing measurement, molten steel is continuously poured while the tundish stopper is lowered so that the pouring speed of molten steel is regulated and occurrence of vortex is prevented, and a stage where the stopper is further lowered immediately before slag flows out from the tundish nozzle, thereby completing pouring of molten steel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
